Leave it to Kelly to Light up a Room

It’s no secret that Kelly Wearstler is a serious design star. Between redefining boutique hotel decor, being dubbed “the presiding grande dame of West Coast interior design” by The New Yorker, writing a best selling book, creating a signature fashion line, and opening a namesake flagship store in Los Angeles, Wearstler proves that you can do it all. Not to mention the fact that she has yet to celebrate her 50th birthday.

Wearstler’s latest endeavor is a stunning lighting collaboration with Visual Comfort & Co. that will premiere this month at High Point Market. The collection, which draws on the designer’s penchant for mixed metals, stones, and one-of-a-kind textures, includes ceiling chandeliers, pendants, flush mounts, wall sconces, and table and floor lamps. When explaining the inspiration behind her collection, Wearstler says, “I tried to draw upon my experience creating jewelry, incorporating fine detailing and signature textures.”

Of course, her lights are just as modern and distinctive as her iconic interiors and I can’t wait to get my hands on them for one of my own projects. In the meantime, while I wait impatiently, I’ve curated some images of my favorites here.
